Summative Brief : what we have to do

00:12

It's the last day of the term and I'm feeling great. Christmas is just round the corner and I have a whole month off to relax and not do any work whatsoever.

Ha, yeah right.

We were given our next brief that we had to do but instead of it being a group project like usual, and only being  a formative assessment, we now have to do this one individually and it's summative which means it gets marked. At first I was so happy about this, I'm not a fan of group work really. However, I know that this is going to mean that I've got a lot more work to do and a lot more to prove.

As you know from my previous posts, the last task I did was we were given a category and we had to find trends within the category. I had footwear and looked at women trainers. We now have to pick one trend that we focused and find examples of it in adverts, retail and also look at the cultural side of it. Not only that we also have to find a new direction for the trend to go into and do a report on everything using InDesign. I'd spent two years previous to this course using InDesign because most of my courses needed this software, however I'm absolutely useless at it so I'm not looking forward to going back to it.

I'm excited to see how I get on with this project though and will be documenting my findings so if you are interested in doing this course you can get a little bit of an insight in the sort of things you will be doing!
