& Other Stories campaign

It's no secret that in this society you have to look a certain way and meet societies expectation of beauty. However, in & Other stories new campaign they have gone against the standards set and has embraced models individuality. The campaign focuses on 'what it means to be a woman' and embraces things like stretch marks, birthmarks, tattoos and body hair - things that are usually frowned upon.
The campaign features intimate portraits photographed by Hedvid Jenning. The idea behind it is to show real women with real imperfections and that we should hide them or try to cover them up - that we're all beautiful.

& Other Stories is one of my absolute favourite brands and this has just made me love them even more. The campaign follows their recent use of Transgender models in their Spring/Summer 15' shoot. It's weird to think that natural things like body hair and birth marks are frowned upon in society and is something that just isn't talked about even though it's something that everyone is born with. By doing this campaign the brand is taking a step into the right direction and is almost making a stand by not conforming to societies standards. Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to start growing my armpit hair out anytime soon, but it does make me feel a bit better that there's brands who accept things like that and is teaching people not to care about what some peoples ideologies are.
