Karl Lagerfeld's 'Once and Forever' featuring Kristen Stewart.

I'll admit, when I first heard Kristen Stewart was starring as Chanel in Karl Lagerfeld's new short, 'Once and Forever' I was a bit skeptical. Having watched many films with Kristen Stewart (yes, including the Twilight saga about a thousand times) I've noticed her style of acting is very sameish. Lack of emotion, usually playing quite dull and weird characters, was she the right 'Chanel'? Not only that but Stewart's acting is so 21st century defined compared to Chanel's legacy which is timeless and elegant.

After watching the 40 - second trailer I wasn't too impressed with what I saw. I think the overall plot of the film is interesting and I will definitely be watching it when It premieres on the 1st of December, however I'm slightly bored with Kristen Stewarts monochromatic acting and think Lagerfeld could've picked a more diverse and interesting actress. In saying that Kristen Stewart has been the brand ambassador for Chanel since 2013 so that could play a part in why she was chosen.

The reason for this short film is because Karl Lagerfeld wanted the film 'to show the audiences the real Coco Chanel'. We all know of her because of her fashion (and if you haven't heard of her where have you been??) but not the real person, who she really is. This film is a great chance for the public to really grasp who she was as a person, and who knows her better than Karl Lagerfeld?

I am, however, excited to see what the whole film brings and whether or not Kristen will surprise me and play Chanel perfectly.
